Concrete Characteristics
Each piece we craft is made by hand using our signature concrete blend, resulting in a durable, long-lasting product with its own natural character. Concrete, like stone, has subtle variations and inherent imperfections—traits we fully embrace. These unique markings and textures are part of what make each item one of a kind, showcasing the raw, organic beauty of the material and adding to the individuality of every piece.
Bug Holes
Air bubbles form during concrete pouring due to the entrapment of air in the mixture, a normal occurrence that can occasionally result in surface craters or “bug holes” as the concrete sets and hardens.
Miniscule, or what are referred to as hairline cracks, are nearly inevitable in a concrete kitchen. They don’t always occur, but they can develop. The cracks tend to be non-structural and are a result of the natural shrinkage of the concrete. They are commonly viewed as inherent characteristics of the concrete and not as flaws.
Hairline Cracks
Most of our products are made using a two-part mold, which can create a visible connection seam. This seam may have a slightly different, more raw texture—an intentional result of the casting process that adds to the handcrafted character of each piece.
